Experience The Difference

Meet Dr. Katerine Cardona

I attended La Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia where I graduated with a DMD degree. Following my education in Colombia, I completed a second DMD and orthodontic specialty certification at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have been a licensed dentist since 2010 and in the orthodontic specialty since 2018. I joined Drs. Battistoni, Beam, and Polivka in January 2022. I am actively involved in the Windy City Seminars study club, along with several other professional associations.

I always put my patients first and am fully dedicated to providing great orthodontic care to my patients. I am bilingual (English and Spanish).

Creating beautiful smiles is a passion that I have and share with my husband, who is also an orthodontist.

BEYOND THE PRACTICE

My roots lie in Colombia, but for the last 13 years, Chicago has become my second home. This city is a melting pot of cultures and diverse people, and I'm constantly inspired by the energy and creativity it exudes. Whether I'm exploring a new neighborhood, trying a new restaurant, or attending a cultural event, there's always something new to discover in Chicago.

During my teen years, I trained as an underwater rugby player, which taught me many important values that have shaped who I am today. One of the most valuable lessons I learned was the importance of discipline and self-control. Underwater rugby requires you to hold your breath for prolonged periods of time while still moving your body, which takes a tremendous amount of focus and determination. This experience taught me the value of pushing myself beyond my limits and the power of self-discipline in achieving my goals. And while I no longer play rugby, I'm always looking for new ways to challenge myself and stay active.

I’m married to a wonderful and fun man, Sal, who is not only a talented orthodontist but also my adventure buddy. We love to immerse ourselves in various hobbies, such as pottery and painting, and explore Chicago's diverse arts and culture scene. Sharing my passions and adventures with Sal adds to the richness of my life, and I'm grateful for our time together.
